2008 Texas Dirt Nationals

$8,000.00 Guaranteed money!  Races will be held at Tri State Speedway in Amarillo, Tx.  August 8th & 9th.  Friday night practice and heats, Saturday night practice and mains.  Track opens at noon both days.  Registration from noon to 2:00pm.  Sign in by 2:00pm or run scratch in the heats. 

Purse break down is $1000 per class with $100 extra to the five largest class's first place winners.  Will be paying 1st through 5th.  Current estimated payout is 1st-$500, 2nd-$250, 3rd-$125, 4th-$75 and 5th-$50.  Contact Marcus Evans for information on motor rules.

Track is 1/7th mile on the inside, dirt oval, banked 15 degrees.  Indoor bathrooms with showers, concessions and indoor scale and tech building.  Electricity in the pits, camping on site and pit parking- NO CHARGE!!!!!!

Entry fee is $60.00 per class (includes fuel fee) for early entry (7-15-08) and $75.00 (includes fuel fee) after that.  Doesn't include pit passes.  Pit passes will be $15.00 for a one day and $25.00 for a two day.  Checks accepted until 7-15-08.  Cash only after that.

Each class will run two heats and a main.  20 cars will start the A main.  20 minute per race rule will apply.  WKA Heartland series motor tech rules will be used for all motors except the Blue Wazoom.  KART rules will be used to tech the Wazoom. IKF and KART motors are welcome. Will hold top 5 for tech and will tech top 3.  All karts will enter the grid with an empty tank.  Chest protector's required for open wheel drivers 12 and under.  15 year olds must declare on entry form which class they will run.  No moving up from one class to another during the two day event.  Pay out will be decided according to class count.  1st thru 5th graranteed pay out.  Minimum car count to make a class is four.

Classes:  No spec tires- tire prep permitted

Age determined by driver's age as of Dec. 20, 2007 or current age at time of race if current age meets WKA  requirements. Ex. If your child was 11 on Dec. 20, 2007 they would be required to run the Junior 2 class.  All club members as of May 2, 2008 may run in their current classes.  If they choose to move up at Texas Dirt Nationals they must stay there for the rest of the points season at Tri State Speedway.

 Jr. Animal- 8-10 years (Birth cert. req.) stock animal, .425 purple,

265 lbs.

Junior 1 Lite- 8-10 years (bc req) stock Briggs, .425 purple, 250 lbs.

Junior 1 Heavy- 8 to 10 years (bc req.) stock Briggs, .425 purple, 265 lbs.

Junior 2- 12-15 years (bc req.) stock Briggs, .575 gold, 295 lbs.

Super 2- 12-15 years (bc req.) stock Briggs, .575 gold, 320 lbs.

Stock Med.- 15 & up- Briggs- 330 lbs.

Stock Heavy- 15 & up- Briggs- 370 lbs.

Stock Animal-15 & up- 375 lbs.

Sr. Champ-15 & up- Briggs @390 lbs, Animal @ 400 lbs, Blue Wazoom @ 425 lbs. -spec tires are SS55's, HT3's and HT5's.

Notice:  Guardian/parents (if a court has issued joint custody in a divorce for a minor driver, both parents have to sign a minor release and have it notarized for minor to participate.) Contact Laura Greer at 806-381-1270 for copy of minor release.

Tri State Speedway is a no alcohol facility.  Please leave those beverages at your home or motel.
